24-Hour Care
Around-the-clock coverage you can count on.
When your loved one needs continuous support, our rotating shift caregivers provide seamless 24-hour coverage — so no one is ever alone and you can rest easy.
What around-the-clock care means
Twenty-four-hour care means a caregiver is awake and present around the clock, in shifts, so your loved one is never alone, day or night. It is the level of support that makes staying home possible when needs are constant, falls are a real risk, or confusion does not stop when the sun goes down.
Unlike a single overnight shift, 24-hour care uses a rotating team of caregivers who hand off so someone is always alert and attentive; no one is expected to stay awake for days. Founded by a registered nurse, Private Duty Aides coordinates these teams carefully so coverage is seamless and your loved one sees the same familiar faces.

Signs it may be time for 24-hour care
- Falls, or near-falls, are happening at any hour
- Help or supervision is needed during the night, not just the day
- Wandering or confusion makes leaving them alone unsafe
- A single caregiver at home is exhausted from being on 24/7
- Getting to the bathroom safely at night is a growing worry
- After a hospital stay, they cannot yet be left on their own

What is the difference between 24-hour care and live-in care?
With 24-hour care, caregivers work in shifts and stay awake the entire time, so someone is always alert. Live-in arrangements assume the caregiver sleeps at night. For clients who need active nighttime help, awake 24-hour coverage is safer.
How many caregivers are involved?
Typically a small, consistent team rotates through day and night so no one works dangerously long and your loved one still sees familiar faces rather than a parade of strangers.
Is this around-the-clock medical nursing?
No. It is non-medical care provided continuously: supervision, personal care, mobility help, meals, and safety. We coordinate with your loved one's medical providers but do not perform skilled nursing tasks.
How quickly can 24-hour care start?
Often within 24 to 48 hours. When it is driven by a hospital discharge or a sudden decline, tell us and we will move as fast as safely possible to get coverage in place.
Can we start with less and scale up?
Absolutely. Many families begin with daytime or overnight help and move to full 24-hour coverage as needs grow, with the same agency and care team, just adjusted hours.
